Terms and conditions
Last updated: October 26, 2026
This is a courtesy translation. If there is any difference, the Spanish version prevails.
These terms govern your use of the humanidades.mx website, the learning platform and the business portal of HumanidadEs, operated by [Razón social de HumanidadEs, S.A.S. de C.V.]. By creating an account, buying a course or accepting an invitation, you accept these terms and our privacy notice.
In short
- When you buy a course, you keep access to it while HumanidadEs operates. You can get a refund within 10 days if it isn't for you.
- Business plans are billed per person, monthly or yearly, and you can cancel any time.
- Our certificates prove you completed the course; they aren't official SEP documents or DC-3 records.
- Treat other people with respect: we moderate reviews.
1. The service
HumanidadEs offers video courses on human rights, equality, inclusion and preventing violence at work. Every course includes subtitles, a transcript and an easy-read version. When you finish a course, a verifiable completion certificate is issued.
You can use HumanidadEs in two ways:
- On your own, by buying courses for yourself.
- Through your company, which buys licenses and assigns you courses.
Some lessons can be watched for free as a preview.
2. Your account
- Give us accurate information and keep your email up to date: we use it to send certificates, receipts and important notices.
- You sign in with a link we email you or with your Google account. Keep your email secure: whoever controls it can sign in to your account.
- Your account is personal. Don't share your access: your certificates prove that you took the course.
- You are responsible for activity on your account. If you notice unauthorized access, tell us right away.
- You must be 18 or older, or have the consent of your parent or guardian.
3. Individual purchases
- Prices are shown in Mexican pesos and include VAT (IVA).
- Payment is processed securely by Stripe. We don't store your card details.
- Once payment is confirmed, you have access to the course for as long as HumanidadEs operates. If we ever stop offering the service, we will give you at least 60 days' notice so you can finish your courses and download your certificates.
- Courses may be updated to improve their content or accessibility. You keep access to the current version.
4. Refunds
You can request a full refund of an individual course within 10 calendar days of purchase if two conditions are met: you have completed less than 25% of the course and you don't have its certificate yet.
To request it, write to hola@humanidades.mx from your account email. We will refund the same payment method within 10 business days, and your access to the course will end once the refund is processed.
If you were charged twice or a technical error prevents you from taking the course, we will refund you even after that period.
5. Invoicing
We issue electronic invoices (CFDI 4.0). For individual purchases, request your invoice within the same calendar month as the purchase, with your complete tax details. For business plans, an invoice is issued with each charge using the tax details the company enters in its portal.
You are responsible for the accuracy of your tax details. If an invoice must be cancelled or replaced because of an error in them, we will do so within the periods tax rules allow.
6. Business plans
- Licenses: the plan is billed per person with access (license), at the current price shown on the website, in the portal or in the agreed quote, plus VAT.
- Billing cycle: monthly or yearly, charged automatically to the card on file at the start of each period.
- Changes: you can add or remove licenses or switch cycles from the portal. Mid-period changes are prorated on the next invoice. You can't have fewer licenses than people with access.
- Freeing licenses: when you remove someone's access, their license becomes available for someone else.
- Failed payment: if a charge fails, you have 5 calendar days to update your payment method. After that, we may suspend your staff's access until payment is settled.
- Cancellation: you can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period and partial periods are not refunded.
- Your staff's data: the company confirms it has a legal basis to share with us the names, emails, departments and job titles of the people it invites, and that it informs them about the platform. When the contract ends, you can download your reports and certificates for 30 days; after that we delete or anonymize the progress data linked to your company. People keep certificates already issued.
- Specific terms: a quote or contract signed with your company prevails over this section where they conflict.
7. Certificates
When you complete every lesson of a course, HumanidadEs issues a completion certificate with a public verification code.
The certificate proves that the person finished the course on our platform. It is not a degree, diploma or document with official validity before Mexico's Ministry of Public Education (SEP), nor a labor skills record (DC-3) before the Ministry of Labor (STPS).
Taking a course, for example on NOM-035 or on preventing sexual harassment, can support a company's training obligations. It doesn't replace the other obligations those standards set, such as assessments, policies and response mechanisms.
If we find that a certificate was obtained fraudulently (for example, with a shared account), we may revoke it.
8. Nature of the content
The courses are for education and awareness. They are not legal, psychological or medical advice for any specific case.
If you are experiencing violence, discrimination or harassment, contact your company's support channels or the competent authorities. In an emergency in Mexico, call 911.
9. Intellectual property
The courses, videos, texts, downloadable materials, the HumanidadEs brand and the platform design belong to HumanidadEs or its instructors and are protected by law.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to watch the courses for learning. You may not download, record, resell or redistribute the videos, or use them to train third parties, without our written permission.
Downloadable materials may be used inside your organization for internal training, citing HumanidadEs as the source.
10. Reviews and content you publish
You can publish reviews of courses you took. You keep authorship of what you write and give us permission to publish, display and translate it within HumanidadEs.
You may not publish:
- Offensive or discriminatory language, or content that promotes violence.
- Other people's personal data or details that could identify people involved in a case.
- Advertising, spam or content unrelated to the course.
Anyone can report a review. Our team reviews reports and may hide content that breaks these rules.
11. Acceptable use
When using HumanidadEs you agree not to:
- Try to access accounts, data or parts of the system that aren't yours.
- Interfere with the service or use automated tools to extract content.
- Fake progress or complete courses for someone else.
- Use the service for unlawful purposes or in ways that violate other people's rights.
12. Accessibility
We design HumanidadEs to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. If you find an accessibility barrier, write to hola@humanidades.mx. We will treat it as a priority and, meanwhile, offer you another way to access the content.
13. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep the service available at all times, but there may be interruptions for maintenance or for reasons beyond our control. When possible, we announce scheduled maintenance in advance.
We may improve, change or remove features. If a change significantly affects a service you already paid for, we will let you know and, where appropriate, offer an alternative or a proportional refund.
14. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid HumanidadEs in the 12 months before the event giving rise to it. We are not liable for indirect damages or for how you use the content outside the platform.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Mexico's Federal Consumer Protection Law.
15. Account suspension and closure
You can stop using HumanidadEs and ask us to close your account at any time.
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Except in urgent cases, such as fraud or risk to others, we will notify you first and give you a chance to explain.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will publish the current version on this page with its date. If the change is significant, we will notify you by email or inside the platform at least 15 days in advance. If you don't agree, you can close your account or cancel your plan before it takes effect.
17. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the federal laws of Mexico. For any dispute, the parties submit to the competent courts of Mexico City, without prejudice to consumers' right to go to the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (PROFECO).
